Here is a link to the Kaiser Family Foundation, a great resource for
research on health care costs.
http://www.statehealthfacts.org/comparemaptable.jsp?ind=265&cat=5   From
this page you can click on total retail RX sales and then pick your
state.  You can also get the info per capita.  

 

To get sales amounts for over-the-counter drugs, go to the Consumer
Healthcare Products Assn website
http://www.chpa-info.org/pressroom/OTC_FactsFigures.aspx  They don't
give a state number, just a national number (which doesn't include
WalMart) but you can get an estimate for your state by dividing your
state's population into the US population.
