PHARMA IN THE STATES: INDUSTRY FIGHTS DRUG DISPOSAL, TRANSPARENCY LAWS, RIGHT-TO-TRY UPDATE — The drug industry is ramping up its campaign against Los Angeles County’s drug take back law, ahead of a May 3 vote by the county’s board of supervisors, the LA Times reports. Drug companies are opposed to the measure, which would put pharma on the hook for financing a drug disposal program. The industry has vigorously opposed similar legislation in other California counties. The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the drug industry’s challenge to the first of such laws, adopted in 2012 in Alameda County. http://lat.ms/21P20Z2
