I was totally shocked to hear Dr. Natalie Azar promote trash disposal with kitty litter for unwanted medications on the Today Show. Starting at 3:23; http://www.today.com/video/are-you-taking-more-medication-than-you-need-to-here-s-how-to-find-out-1016325187621
The EPA, DEA, FDA, and many other federal and state agencies say that take-back programs are the preferred method of disposal and trash disposal should only be used as a last resort. Just yesterday, the acting

The only stake-holders that promote trash disposal as the preferred method of disposal are PhARMA and disposal product manufactures.
