I don't recall this 2018 attempt to dismantle take back in NH being mentioned on this listserv.

Apologies if I am rehashing old news.

Victoria Sullivan claimed during the debate that House Bill 1457 which she sponsored supported ‘the current drug take back programs” and “in the legislation it said that it is imperative to get these drugs out of our homes and off our streets.”

  * REALITY: Law enforcement officials said Sullivan’s bill would force them to dismantle their drug take back program. According to the Bedford Police Chief and Chiefs Association, House Bill 1457 would “effectively exclude NH law enforcement agencies from participation in the twice-annual DEA drug take back program” and would have “dismantled” law enforcement’s drug drop box and take back programs. The Committee on Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs:

STATEMENT OF INTENT The existing drug take-back program has been remarkably successful. Mixing illicit drugs into this program would preclude current disposal methods. This would likely force hospitals and law enforcement to cease participation in a very successful program. Therefore, this bill is Inexpedient to Legislate. The majority is also concerned about the clause allowing municipalities to bill other municipalities; especially as this is inconsistent with anonymous drop offs.
