Khaleda Hatim has been working with Erdas for several years now. She is
with FDOT Planning office. She can be contacted at
khaleda.hatim@dot.state.fl.us. She has worked with various imagery. We
process with imagery limited to aerials.
I like the idea of an image summit.

Subject: shrug-l: New SHRUG Website address
As of Monday, August 12th, the Seven Hills Regional Usergroup for GIS
(SHRUG) website is now located at the following URL:
http://www.shrug-gis.info/
The domain has been changed from .ORG to .INFO. Please be sure to update
your bookmarks and references to the site.
Also, pre-registration for the November GIS conference is in full swing.
(Only $50 before October 15th!) Check out the website to get information
about registration, paper submittals, and entering your poster into the
competition.
Stop by and take a look around if you haven't recently. Thanks to our
President, Bill Pollock, for making the website domain transition as smooth
as possible.
See you in November!

Subject: shrug-l: ERDAS / Image Processing
Is there anyone in the community that has a good bit of knowledge about =
image processing in ERDAS. I am trying to work with some new QuickBird =
images and am having a bit of trouble with doing color balancing, contrast
=
stretching, min / max vs. standard deviation, etc. Would also like to =
talk with someone experienced in pan-sharpening the multi spectral image.
=
Having little progress using the "canned" tools in Imagine, and am not =
familiar enough about the processing functions to proceed much further =
without some advice. Thanks, Joe

Subject: shrug-l: ERDAS Follow-up
Thanks to those that responded to my earlier post. I did work out some of
=
the problems I was having using the ERDAS Field Guide last night and was =
able to produce a high resolution pan-sharpened image for a scene within =
the county, although I still have many questions on the process and =
parameters.=20
I am curious though about how many folks we have doing image processing/cla
=
ssification/analysis in our community. I would suspect that there are a =
few with varying degrees of expertise out there somewhere. Basil are you =
on vacation? Would anyone be interested in blocking out 1-2 hours at the
=
SHRUG Conference to hold a "Image Summit" as Linc suggested to me earlier =
today? I am sure I could get some folks from ERDAS in Atlanta down if =
they have not scheduled already.
Some of the possible topics might include:
Image Processing
Storage
Classification Techniques
Orthorectification
etc.....etc.....
Let me know if you are interested and I will help coordinate. Joe

Hi Joe,
We aren't doing any image processing here at the local government level, =
but I know there is a good bit of image work in various state agencies =
(DOT, DEP, FWC, etc...).
I like the idea of an "Image Summit". You guys could sign up for a 90 =
minute panel discussion under the abstract submission option. Just go to =
the SHRUG site and click on Submit Abstract Online and fill out the form. =
That will enter you into our Access database.
