This is advanced professional work designing, developing and executing
geographic information system (GIS) projects and methodologies.  Primary
duties:  designs, develops, and maintains GIS application software;
develops and designs GIS and Oracle Relational Database Management Systems
(RDMS) connectivity; provides technical support of GIS technologies to the
District users; develops user documentation for the application software;
provides GIS training to the users; and attends seminars, trade shows,
training courses, and studies technical material related to computer
technology.  Qualifications include:  a bachelor's degree in engineering,
planning, computer science, a physical or natural science, or related field
and three years of experience in geographic information system analysis and
cartographic design using ArcInfo or equivalent software.  A master's
degree in planning, or a physical, natural or engineering or computer
science can substitute for one year of the required experience; or  an
associate degree in computer science or a technical program directly
related to GIS and five years of geographical information systems
experience. Professional experience as described above may substitute on a
year-for-year basis for the required college education.  EOE/VET PREF/DFWP
