Operations Center

Well it's been nearly a year since my last
correspondence, though I've been lurking on this list as it is quite
useful :)
	=09
If you haven't noticed it's hurricane season, AGAIN! My
team and I have been plugging along and even managed to handle the first
few storms on our own. The rookies are getting nicely seasoned, and I
mean that affectionately.
	=09
		On to business. . . .
		support needed for
	=09
For Sat-end of event (approx Wed/Thurs)
1 GIS Specialist for digital cartography and minor
analysis (geographic queries of facilities, populations etc)
1 GIS Specialist/Analyst for support to Recon Team
(preperation needs to be done Sat/Sun for land fall on Mon)
1 GIS Specialist/Analyst for Search and Rescue to be
based here at the EOC
1 GIS Specialist/Analyst to deploy w/Search and Rescue
Team. Deployment will most likely begin Monday for pre-staging and will
last for 72hrs depending on strength of storm and damage. This person
should have cross over w/EOC person on Sun pre-deployment
1 GIS Analyst for support to the Flood Team
intermidiate to advanced skill in GIS w/ArcView 8.3 or
above needed
	=09
Shifts are 12hrs and we have moved to a swing shift
approach (9am-9pm) with DEM staff filling the traditional 7-7 shifts.
This gives us adaquate overlap and depth during peak times.
	=09
Breakfast is served at 8:00 Lunch at noon and Dinner
around 6:00pm
	=09
The work is intense and priorities change by the second
(somethings never change)
	=09
		Please contact Carla.Boyce@dca.state.fl.us w/SEOC
support in the subject line
