Hello,

 

I been asked to lets folks know about the GPS courses that I teach at TCC. I
teach a GPS sequence which highly complements a GIS sequence taught by Mr.
Patrick Pence and may be of interest to the SHRUG community.  

 

 

SUR2533 is typically taught in the Fall and provides students with history,
theory, and basic skills and concepts of GPS and GPS data collection.  This
course utilizes Trimble Pro XR DGPS receivers.  

 

SUR 2533 Global Positioning Systems (GPS) (3) FA This course covers the

concepts and the latest knowledge and techniques in Global Positioning

Systems (GPS). Students learn the theory and skills needed to benefit from
the

application of this satellite technology in Engineering and Technology and

related areas. It also provides students the opportunity to gain hands-on

experience with GPS receiver and software. Contact 3 hours. (Additional fee)

 

 

SUR2534 is an advance course which builds upon concepts learned in SUR2533.
This course explores concepts of attribution of locational features and
mapping into GIS applications.  This course is typically taught during the
Spring semesters and utilizes Trimble Pro XR and GeoXT DGPS receivers.

 

SUR 2534 Advanced Global Positioning Systems (3) SP Prerequisites: SUR

2533. This course covers the advanced concepts and techniques in Global

Positioning Systems (GPS). Students learn the theory and skills needed to
benefit

from the applications of this advance satellite technology in Engineering and

Technology related areas. It also provides students with the opportunity to
gain

hands-on experience with GPS receiver and software. (Additional fee)
