shrug-l: ArcInfo Lab File

I am running an AML script in ArcInfo Workstation from the arc prompt.
The error that it is generating states:
 
Fatal Error (SELCOV)
CANNOT OPEN LAB FILE
Bailing out of SELECT
 
What is the lab file and why is it not being selected.  Any thoughts?
