JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Under general supervision of the GIS Coordinator, performs Geographic
Information System (GIS) analysis and evaluation, and application system
design and modification and programming of a routine to complex nature
in support of the County GIS services; performs related work.  Conducts
analysis of data and information layers requested by system users and
determines the appropriate methodologies to display the requested
information.  Develops program logic and processing steps; codes
programs in .NET or other appropriate language.  Plans and develops
tests data to validate new or modified programs; designs input and
output forms and documents.  Writes program documentation and user
procedures and instructions, and assists user departments and staff in
implementing new or modified programs and applications; tracks and
evaluates project and systems progress. Develops training materials and
provides user support and training for the County GIS users.  Installs,
tests, and configures GIS and Mapping Software. 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major work in computer
science, geography, GIS or land related discipline; and two years
programming experience in the design and implementation of GIS
applications.  Associate's degree from an accredited college with major
course work in computer science, geography, GIS or land related
discipline;  and four years programming experience in the design and
implementation of GIS applications.  Professional experience as
described above may substitute on a year for year basis for the required
education. Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License.

Salary: $42,000-$63,510
