Does anyone know of a GIS e-mail Listserv (similar to SHRUG) for the Palm
Beach County / Broward County area? I am a geographer with some GIS teaching
and Industry experience and I recently moved from Tallahassee to Boca Raton.
I am looking for jobs in the area and wanted to get in touch with the GIS
community here. Any contacts anyone?
Thanks,
Shivangi Prasad

Subject: shrug-l: Geocoded point split
Date: Tue, 12 Jun 2007 16:07:34 -0400
Has anyone used the Geocode Point Split script from the ESRI's
Arcscripts? This script splits up the address points that has the same
X,Y values after geocoding (i.e. if the address is shared by more than
one person all these people end up having the same x,y values as their
address geocoding results and this script splits these points in
ArcMap). However, I could not figure out a way to control the distance
to shift points. The script works, that is it splits the points with the
same X,Y but these points fall to far apart from each other. The only
value the script would accept is "1" and that puts split points too far
away from each other.
This is a very common problem with geocoding units in apartment
complexes as they all attain the same X,Y value after geocoding. If
anyone has been dealing with this issue and would like to share their
experiences/thoughts on dealing with this issue, I will really
appreciate it.
Thanks
