Hi,

I'm currently running arc 9.2 in an Athlon 64 2.61 Ghz machine. The performance leaves much to be desired, especially when you open up raster backdrops. Not sure if it's a RAM issue or a processor issue, but with 2 gigs of RAM I wouldn't imagine memory was an issue. Yeah, in all I'd say anything that takes a great deal of processing power chugs quite slowly and frequently hiccups.

Hope this helps -

Dave

Is anyone out there running 64 bit machines where you are using a 32 bit application like ArcGIS. How about Erdas and Idrisi users? I am just curious if you see any performance issues. Also does anyone know if ESRI, Leica or Clarke Labs will be releasing 64 bit software in the near future?
