We have an immediate opening for a GIS/Web programmer available at the
Florida Division of Emergency Management.

                                           

This position is an OPS position, working within the Division's
Information Management Section. If interested, please send a resume

Duties and Responsibilities - 

*         Assists in planning for the development of a large scale
integrated management information system in a data base environment. 

*         Analyzes agency data requirements and effects of interactive
computer oriented systems. 

*         Creates and maintains descriptions for data users and
resources. 

*         Works in coordination with programmers, programmer/analysts
and other data processing personnel on procedures related to new or
existing data files. 

*         Consults with supervisors and administrators on management 

*         Develops and documents standards for use, control, updating
and maintenance of data bases. 

*         Establishes and maintains data bases used for testing and
production. 

*         Develops security and control procedures for data bases
including recovery and back-up procedures. 

*         Prepares systems plans, reports of recommendations and
information system requirement specifications. 

*         Recommends priorities for systems development. 

*         Analyzes and evaluates user requests for new or modified
systems and develops cost analysis. 

*         Performs related work as required. 

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment,
required for the position: 

 

*         College diploma or university degree in the field of computer
science and/or 2 years equivalent work experience.

*          Knowledge and use of HTML, ASP, .NET ASP, VBScript,
JavaScript, Flash, ColdFusion, and SQL

*          Knowledge and use of Visual Studio, Access, SQL Server 2000,
and SQL Server 2005

*          Knowledge of computer operations procedures and systems.

*          Ability to prepare program specifications.
