Greetings,
Just an "fyi" that a new Land Use/Land Cover dataset in shapefile format (compressed .zip) entitled SRWMD 2006-08 Land Use is available at the following location; http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gis/datadir.htm
Abstract: This dataset, created by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Watershed Restoration, is an inventory of Land use - Land Cover classified in the State of Florida's Suwannee River Water Management District and based on 2006, 2007 or 2008 Florida Ortho Quarter Quad Aerial Imagery Color Infrared or True color photography. Classifications are provided for level 1, 2, 3 and a few level 4 (indicated in Land use and Secondary Code attribute fields) codes as are primarily described in the FDOT's Florida Land Use, Cover and Forms Classification System.
The Bureau of Watershed Restoration seeks to constantly improve the accuracy of this dataset; any comments and/or corrections to the content of this information are welcome and will be incorporated as appropriate.
The equivalent is currently being developed for the Northwest Florida Water Management District and should be available at the above mentioned location before December 2010.
Thanks!
