GITA Southeast is pleased to announce a Lunch and Learn meeting scheduled on
Thursday , August 23 from 11:30AM to 1:30PM. This event will be held at the
Esri office in Alpharetta. Southern Company's, Jeff DeWitt will be
presenting on how Southern Company used GIS Technology to support various
activities and the community. You do earn education points toward getting or
maintaining the GISP certification when you attend this meeting.

Topic: Southern Company use of GIS to support activities and the community

 

Speaker: Jeff DeWitt, GIS Administrator Georgia Power

 

Presentation Description: Jeff DeWitt will be presenting on how Southern
Company used GIS Technology to support various activities including system
maintenance and inspections, land acquisitions, parcel management and more.
He will also talk about how Southern Company is using GIS technology to help
support the community and internal customers.

 

Speaker Bio: Jeff first started with Georgia Power as a GIS Analyst in April
of 2002. In March of 2008, he was promoted to his current role as a GIS
Administrator. Jeff has extensive work experience with geographic
information systems (GIS), database administration, electric distribution
systems, project management, managing people, and problem solving. He has a
Masters in Forest Management and Policy from Auburn University. Prior to
joining Georgia Power, Jeff was a GIS Analyst for Space Imaging.
