GIS ANALYST Fayette County is seeking to fill the position of GIS Analyst in
our Information Services Department.  Fayette County is located about 15
miles south of the city limits of Atlanta and is considered an integral part
of Metro Atlanta.  Encompassing about 199 square miles, Fayette County
government provides a full range of services to its estimated 110,000
citizens.  In spite of its relatively small size in terms of land area,
Fayette County offers its residents a variety of amenities and recreational
activities.  Success in fusing together a rich heritage and a flair for

Fayette County is seeking a GIS Analyst to be responsible for providing
technical and project management support of various GIS projects for all
County departments who rely on GIS technology. This employee will be
responsible for database design, systems management, spatial data
conversion, integration of spatial and non-spatial data and user training
and support.   Knowledge required for this position includes, but is not
limited to, knowledge of GIS concepts and principles, knowledge of ArcSDE,
ArcGIS and Microsoft SQL servers and associated database management and
system administration.  This position requires knowledge and skill with
project management, preferably with local government.  This position
requires skill in the development of project strategies, researching and
evaluating new GIS software and technologies and in creating custom and
standard map products.   Employee must be able to use office equipment such
as computer, calculator, copier, scanner and facsimile machine.  Microsoft
Word, Excel and Outlook required. Minimum qualifications for this position
include five years experience associated with completion of specialized
training in the field of work.  Bachelor's degree preferred.  Possession of
or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's licenses issued by the State
of Georgia.   Annual salary range is $47,504 - $57,879.  Salary is
commensurate with experience and education. This is an exempt position which
may require attendance at after normal business hour meetings.
