An unique opportunity with a Tallahassee agency has opened up for an experienced technical professional, who designs, operates, oversees, and maintains GIS related databases and servers for broad use in the GIS and Web mapping areas.  Primarily interfaces with GIS, Mapping, and Information Technology while supporting both internal and external project teams.

The successful candidate will work with a high-performing team conducting day-to-day geospatial and non-spatial data management activities (receiving, delivery, quality assurance, metadata, acceptance, indexing, web services) necessary to support the implementation of data repositories related to transportation planning, design and production environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that GIS data and products are operational, accurate, available, usable, shareable, integrated, and interpreted for use by end-users.


*         Extensive knowledge in the ESRI product suite.

*         Handles evolving database technologies, keeps abreast of current technologies (ESRI ArcSDE, ArcGIS Suite, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle).

*         Advanced understanding of GIS data formats, data conversion and data maintenance concepts.

*         Ability to maintain multiple GIS projects databases.

*         Develop procedures for applying service packs and upgrades for ArcGIS including ArcSDE and SQL Server or Oracle.

*         Knowledge and experience with editing scenarios in a multiuser geodatabase environment.

*         Installs, configures, tests, and documents GIS and database application products.
