shrug-l: UNA Online GIS Analyst Certificate Program starts back in Sept

To help meet the growing demand for a skilled workforce the University of
North Alabama Continuing Education
<https://www.una.edu/continuing-education/>  is once again offering our
non-accredited online GIS Analyst Certificate program. This program was
developed by industry professionals that use GIS on a daily basis to help
solve problems, get answers, track assets and more for City and County
Governments, private companies, non-profits and utility authorities. 

 

The GIS Analyst Certificate

of five instructor led online classes that can be completed within a year.

*	Performing GIS Analysis Using ArcGIS

*	Introduction to Model Builder

Python for ArcGIS

 

Students that complete this program will be able to use ArcGIS to do the
following:

1.	Create various types of maps and manage layers within a map
2.	Access and use varying types of data
3.	Understand different data storage formats (i.e. geodatabase,
shapefiles, raster, CAD and others) 
4.	Edit data stored in a Geodatabase or Shapefile
5.	Project data between various coordinate systems
6.	Link tables together for analysis, labeling, and export using Joins
and Relates
7.	Georeference and Import data stored in CAD files (DWG, DXF, or DGN)
into GIS
8.	Export GIS Data to CAD
9.	Understand the components of a Geodatabase
10.	Perform simple to intermediate level analysis using various
geoprocessing tools
11.	Create automation routines using ModelBuilder and Python for ArcGIS
12.	More....

 

These classes will be conducted on Tuesday and Thursday from 7PM to 9PM
Eastern, allowing many working students to attend outside of normal business
hours. All classes can be used to earn education points toward getting or
maintaining the GISP certification <https://www.gisci.org/> .
