Hi Katherine,

I used to teach GPS as an adjunct at TCC a few years ago, I think I stopped in 2014 or 2015. TCC had purchased 5 Trimble GeoXH units for my class. It has been some time now, but I wonder if they still have the equipment or not. I was in the Technology & Professional Programs Division. Their phone number used to be 201-8352.

You could try contacting them to see if they still happen to have anything.

Good Luck,
Tom

Subject: shrug-l: crowd sourcing equipment

Greetings colleagues. I am teaching and advanced course in GIS for natural resource and environmental sciences at FAMU. Enrollment in the course has been increasing and I am appealing to the professional community to see if anyone out there can help me with some equipment. I teach an outdoor exercise where students use a handheld GPS unit to collect points and create a layer file. I am looking for any old working handheld GPS receivers. I don't need fancy, and expensive, newer models. Just something that collects a lat/long, but not an automobile GPS. If anyone has an old eTrex or similar unit laying around that you don't use or want anymore I and my students would greatly appreciate any donations.

Thanks for your support,

Katherine
