Pinellas County Government

SWPC Position:

Highly responsible administrative position involving establishing and
implementing a franchised municipal solid waste collection program in the
unincorporated County and overseeing and managing Pinellas County's hurricane
debris monitoring and collection program. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor
level degree with major coursework in environmental management, urban
planning, civil or electrical engineering, public or business administration
or a related field and 3 years of progressively responsible work experience
in any of the above areas; or possession of a post-graduate degree in any of
the above subjects and 1 year of related experience; or an equivalent
combination of education, training and/or experience. Special Requirement:
Possession and retention of a valid Florida Driver's License. Highly
Desirable: Three years experience in contract administration, franchise
collection management, and/or emergency management programs including 1 year
of supervisory experience or training. 

SWPS Position:

Advanced level professional, supervisory work directing the monitoring,
reporting and compliance activities for the Utilities Solid Waste Division
with respect to environmental programs including applicable regulations and
permits as well as County policies. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
with major course work in environmental management, physical, natural or
biological science, public or business administration or a related field and
3 years of progressively responsible work experience in landfill management,
solid and/or hazardous waste programs or related environmental field; and 2
years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education,
training and/or experience. Advanced degrees in a related field may be
substituted for up to 2 years of required work experience. Possession and
maintenance of a valid Florida Driver's License. Special Requirement:
Candidate must possess or have the ability to successfully obtain a SWANA
Manager of Landfill Operations certification before the end of the first year
of employment. Highly Desirable: Possession or have the ability to
successfully obtain an OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency
Responder certification.
