Happy New Year SQG Friends!

Please be aware that counties that have an established Surcharge or
counties planning to implement a SQG Surcharge may be impacted by the
proposed HB 1063 (attached). This bill is proposing to eliminate the
Local Business Tax. Since the Tax Collector's Office is a county's
primary means of collecting the surcharge, a new billing mechanism would
have to be established (potentially delaying and or eliminating funds).
Additionally, the Local Business Tax Office provides data on new
businesses entering the County.

Please share this information with appropriate administration.
