GIS Users,

The following datasets will be deleted from the ArcSDE in a month (December-
15th 2005). The data in question are:

ArcSDE Name - Dep.Air_heli_and_seaplane_bases
DataMiner Name - Airports Heliports and Seaplane Bases

The above mentioned data was audited for it's use by BIS/GIS Section and
based on the results a decision was made to delete it. Also, this is an old
and outdated version of the air transportation facilities in the state of
Florida. BIS/GIS Section has acquired and inserted in ArcSDE, the latest
version of the same from the original creators of the data - the Bureau of
Transportation Statistics at the US Department of Transportation. This new
version has an improved standard of accuracy, detailed attribute information,
and updated metadata information as compared to the previous version. All
ArcGIS and ArcIMS users are to make a note of this replacement data and
modify their projects accordingly.

Replacement data ArcSDE Name - Base.Airports
DataMiner Name - Airports. (via the 'Transportation' tab)

The other data set for deletion from ArcSDE is:

ArcSDE Name - Dep.EPA_permitted_dams
DataMiner Name - EPA Permitted Dam Locations

This old data was also audited for it's use by BIS/GIS Section and based on
the results a decision was made to delete it. It's replacement data has been
acquired from the National Inventory of Dams database, a national inventory
maintained and published by the US. Corps of Engineers. This new version also
has improved accuracy, detailed attribute information and exhaustive
metadata. Users are to make a note of this replacement data and modify their
projects accordingly.

Replacement data ArcSDE Name - Base.NID_dams
DataMiner Name - NID Dams (via the 'Water" tab)

If any users need additional time to update their projects, please feel free
to contact BIS/GIS for an advancement of the replacement date.

Thanks,

BIS/GIS Section.
