Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician 

Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center

 

Regional Planning Agency serving 10 counties in Coastal Georgia is
expanding its planning staff to meet the needs of a growing region. Our
region includes 100 miles of coastline with eight barrier islands, major
port facilities in Savannah and Brunswick, and large military
installations (Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield and Naval Submarine
Base Kings Bay), which are expanding as a result of BRAC 2005. 

 

Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience in GIS applications or 2-3
years experience. Working familiarity with Arc Info/Arc GIS 8.3 or 9.0
software and Trimble GPS required.  Must possess strong written and
verbal skills and experience with integration of planning and GIS.
Selected candidate will conduct GIS tasks for a variety of projects,
including comprehensive plans and flood insurance rate maps. This is a
one year position and its continuation is contingent upon the
availability of projects. Starting salary $29,415 - $30,904, DOE.
