I think you need to add two or three more columns to the Annotation
layer table and then do a split on the "textstring" into those columns.
Recompose the new "textstring" using those three columns.
A more elegant way of doing this is to add a column "MY_ID" first to the
annotation table and use this MY_ID column to capture the "OBJECTID"
before exporting the annotation table to a DBF file. You can do
whatever you want with the DBF file in EXCEL and then join this DBF file
with the annotation table using the MY_ID column before calculating the
new "textstring" using the joined table.
Good luck

Subject: shrug-l: right-to-left text getting me down
Hello SHRUG,
I have several annotation layers that somehow wound up with
right-to-left
(Hebrew/Arabic) text. As a result, numbers appear before letters where
they
should not. For example:
"Capacity 4000 cfs" becomes "cfs Capacity 4000" in the maps.
Does anyone know of a quick way to fix these? The only solution I know
of
is to manually uncheck right-to-left in the symbol properties of each
annotation layer in each .mxd. This will take too long.
The annotation is saved as its own layer(s), but the problem appears to
be
within the .mxd's. I'm wondering if there is a script or something that
will change them all.
Thank you!
Christy
