Secretary Specialist in the Industrial Wastewater Program

DESCRIPTION
This is a highly responsible secretarial position.  This position requires a responsible employee who is able to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
Reviews letters, Consent Orders, NOV's, memos, and other compliance and enforcement documents for content, accuracy and completeness.  Operates computer terminal, photocopier, printer, fax machine, postage machine.  Types documents.
Maintains files and records of compliance/enforcement cases, office correspondence, documents, reports and other materials.
Ensures that the data entry correspondence to all the projects assigned and/or requested is entered into the Department's data bases timely and appropriately, including the Oculus database, consistent with the Southwest District Water Facility Standard Operating Procedures.
Performs legal clerking of all permits, enforcement actions and modifications issued or denied pursuant to Section 120.52 (11), Florida Statutes.
Assists public by furnishing information on State rules and regulations.  This includes background research and/or reports requiring independent judgment.  Provides information that would otherwise involve engineering time.  Uses initiative, sound judgment and exercises proper decorum in communicating with the public.
Performs the functions of the Administrative Assistant as needed in their absence and in such a manner as to ensure a timely and qualitatively correct work product.  Performs related tasks as required, with minimal supervision, which include vehicle reports, flextime schedules, ordering and distributing supplies, photocopying, faxing correspondence, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, including assistance of other section and District clerical personnel.  These duties might include duties associated with other staff positions on an as-needed basis.
